Music in Worship
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.” Psalm 100:1-2
Music carries our praise and expresses our hope, and so plays a central role in our worship.
At UPC, we are blessed with singers and instrumentalists of all ages who enrich our worship by sharing their gifts. Our musical groups include:
- Chancel Choir
- LOGOS Choirs
- C4 Worship Band
- First Service Praise Band
- Handbell Choirs
The Chancel Choir leads worship most Sundays from September to June, often joined by one of the youth choirs. During the summer months, vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles lead and bless our worship. All of our choirs and instrumentalists participate in festival services such as Easter and Christmas.
Besides providing music for worship services, our musicians are involved in other activities, including retreats, community outreach, adult education, and fellowship. The Chancel Choir has participated with other choirs in ecumenical events and concerts and the youth choirs have performed for services at local nursing facilities.
